About The Position

Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist to join their team in Hummelstown, PA. This role offers a compensation of $65.00 per hour. The hospital fosters a culture of staff engagement, collaboration, and innovation, supporting a dynamic interdisciplinary team focused on inclusion and patient success. The therapy and nursing teams work closely to improve patient outcomes. The setting is designed to allow for focused patient care and meaningful impact. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a functional ADL suite, upper extremity systems, Exoskeleton, functional electrical stim bike, lower extremity systems, and a unweighting gait mobilization device.

Requirements

• Hold a current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Possess Certified BLS or obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performing initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Setting goals and developing treatment plans.
• Working cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participating in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as supervising PT and PTA students.
• Conducting individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitoring patient's response to treatment and modifying treatment during sessions, as needed.
• Completing appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participating in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
