About The Position

Ignite Rehab, operating as part of Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy, is hiring a part-time Physical Therapist to provide one-on-one in-home care in Essex County, including East Orange, West Orange, and Short Hills. The role is scheduled for 20 visits per week, with a flexible schedule. Candidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply, and training is available for new graduates. The position requires willingness to treat geriatric patients and travel to patients’ homes within the assigned territory. Home health experience is preferred but not required; a mentor will support documentation and compliance. The anticipated annual base salary is $65,000–$75,000, based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and geography. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits are available subject to the company plan.

Requirements

Graduate of a Physical Therapist program.
Licensed as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey or eligible for licensure.
Willingness to treat geriatric patients.
Ability to travel to patients’ homes within the assigned geographic territory.

First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

Accept and treat patients within the designated geographic area.
Provide one-on-one treatment.
Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
Deliver care in accordance with professional standards, agency policies, and the prescribed plan of care.
Educate family members, home health aides, and other caregivers on proper therapy techniques.
Plan and carry out therapy programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical function, relieve pain, and prevent dysfunction in patients.
Perform and document an initial examination, evaluate the data, identify problems, and determine a diagnosis before intervention.
Provide timely and accurate documentation for each visit.
Evaluate treatment effects at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
