About The Position

Ignite Rehab, operating as part of Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy, is seeking a motivated and passionate per-diem Occupational Therapist to provide in-home care in Essex County, New Jersey. The role is open to therapists at all experience levels, and the organization will train the right new graduate. A mentor is available to help with documentation and compliance. The position offers flexible scheduling and autonomy, with the ability to see patients any seven days of the week and a preference for visits within the therapist’s primary geographic area. Compensation is $70–$75 per visit, with 1099 and W-2 options.

Requirements

Graduate of an Occupational Therapist program.
Licensed Occupational Therapist in New Jersey or eligible for licensure.
Ability to travel to patients’ homes within the assigned geographic territory.
Strong communication skills with patients, support staff, and management, including timely responses by text, email, and phone.

Home health experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Accept and treat patients within the designated geographic area.
Provide one-to-one treatment.
Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
Deliver care in accordance with professional standards, agency policies, and the prescribed plan of care.
Educate family members, home health aides, and other caregivers on proper therapy techniques.
Plan and carry out occupational therapy programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical function, relieve pain, and prevent occupational dysfunction.
Perform and document an initial examination, evaluate the data, identify problems, and determine a diagnosis before intervention.
Provide timely and accurate documentation for each visit.
Evaluate treatment effects at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Treat geriatric patients.
