About The Position

This is a weekend position at Corewell Health South Medical Center, SJ, requiring work on 46 out of 52 weekends. The weekend shifts are typically between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, though specific times may vary. The role also includes working at least one summer and one winter Holiday weekend. The Physical Therapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, administering, documenting, and evaluating direct physical therapy patient care in accordance with accepted practices and physician's treatment plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited school of physical therapy (APTA)
• LIC-Physical Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross required

Responsibilities

• Perform a thorough and complete evaluation of patients properly referred according to Michigan law in order to determine the patient’s rehab potential and establish an individually based treatment plan.
• Administer physical therapy treatments to patients according to professional standards and department standard operating procedure in order to maximize the patient’s potential functioning level and to achieve treatment goals set in coordination with patient/family, physician and other team members.
• Maintain and complete accurate documentation, department records and reports for all assigned patients in order to provide a clear record and to communicate patient’s treatment plan and progress to the referring physician.
• Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency to ensure the quality of care.
• Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of the rehab services.
• Maintain effective communication with other members of the rehab team regarding physical therapy programs to ensure understanding and better patient care.
