About The Position

This part-time Physical Therapist position in Sports Medicine is located at Texas Health Southwest – Fitness Center in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves performing age-appropriate patient assessments, establishing plans of care, and utilizing therapeutic treatment techniques. The Physical Therapist will educate patients and families on treatment plans, safety, home programs, and assistive equipment. Documentation of all aspects of care is required in accordance with departmental and regulatory guidelines. The role also involves working in partnership with peers and other disciplines, focusing on daily living skills, mobility, and cognition. The department highlights a focus on Orthopedics/Joint replacement and provides opportunities for educational and career growth within a Magnet designated facility.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy program upon hire Required.
PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

1 year prior Physical Therapy experience.

Responsibilities

Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
