About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a passionate Physical Therapist (P.T.) for Acute Care PRN positions at Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork in Fort Worth, TX. This role involves providing age-appropriate patient assessments, establishing plans of care, and utilizing therapeutic treatment techniques for adult and geriatric patients. The Physical Therapist will educate patients and families, document all aspects of care according to regulatory guidelines, and collaborate with peers and other disciplines. The focus is on improving patients' Daily Living Skills, Mobility, and Cognition. This is a PRN position, meaning work is on an as-needed basis with a variable schedule including 8-hour shifts, day and evening hours, mandatory weekend shifts, and holiday coverage. The Physical Therapy Department is a Magnet designated facility with an experienced team and high engagement and safety scores.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program Required.
  • PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
  • Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year acute care Physical Therapy experience.
  • Outpatient experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
  • Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
