About The Position

Stern at Home Therapy is hiring Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) to provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments to patients in their homes in and around Toms River, NJ. We offer multiple employment options, including part-time and full-time roles with W-2 benefits, salary, per-visit, or 1099 contractor arrangements. Full-time PTAs under our 1099 model can earn up to $105,300 annually based on visit volume. This role emphasizes individualized care without the double-booking, productivity quotas, and burnout common in traditional outpatient settings. As a PTA, you will provide treatments under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists who offer remote clinical oversight and establish the plan of care. Your focus will be on delivering treatments and helping patients achieve their goals, rather than performing evaluations.

Requirements

Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey required.
Reliable transportation required.
Strong clinical, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently in a home-based setting while collaborating with remote supervising Physical Therapists.

Nice To Haves

Home health experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments in patients' homes.
Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Work closely with remote supervising PTs regarding patient progress, changes in condition, and treatment recommendations.
Help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, safety, and overall function.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Communicate with patients, families, supervising PTs, and members of the clinical team.
Coordinate with our administrative team regarding scheduling, patient care, and logistics.
Manage your caseload based on your availability and employment structure.
