About The Position

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide skilled care in patients’ homes. The role carries out individualized treatment plans to improve patients’ mobility, strength, balance, and independence while promoting safety. In partnership with patients, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team, the PTA supports recovery and quality of life at home. The position offers per-visit-point and hourly compensation, depending on the work performed. Visits are assigned according to patient and business needs, and weekly visit volume varies based on productivity targets and the points assigned to visits. Hourly compensation applies to certain non-visit activities, such as orientation. The stated annual total cash compensation assumes full-time employment at 40 hours per week and full productivity; this assumption does not change the role’s stated per diem status. The company describes a culture of caring, connecting, and growing, and says employees receive direction and development opportunities. UnitedHealth Group states that it is committed to an inclusive workplace and is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
