Physical Therapist Assistant - PRN PTA
About The Position
Pate Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join its patient care team. The PTA supports patients with care activities in accordance with treatment plans established by a Physical Therapist, assists the Physical Therapist with evaluations and complex treatment procedures, and helps educate patients, families, and other health workers. The role also contributes to program evaluation and development and requires thorough, timely documentation. Pate Rehabilitation, an affiliate of Rehab Without Walls, provides evidence-based physical, occupational, speech/language, and neurocognitive therapies, as well as vocational rehabilitation, to advance and accelerate recovery for individuals with acquired brain injuries and help them return to a high quality of life.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Texas.
- Must pass all pre-employment and employment verifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with exercise, ambulation, functional activities, and the application or use of assistive devices according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist the Physical Therapist with patient evaluations and complex treatment procedures.
- Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided.
- Maintain working knowledge of and adhere to the Physical Therapy Practice Act and Code of Ethics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
