The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will screen, evaluate, re-evaluate, discharge plan, and make revisions to any established plan of care as supervised by a physician. This role involves evaluating residents, establishing appropriate treatment plans and goals, re-assessing patients to determine the need for continued services, and carrying out treatment plans. The PTA will supervise treatment implementation by Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants and modify plans as needed. They will also provide thorough discharge planning to maximize patient independence, educate staff, family, and caregivers, identify needs for program development, and order equipment according to company and facility policy. Documentation, coordination of in-services, attendance at facility meetings, promotion of the profession, and supervision of student affiliates are also key responsibilities. The role requires attending continuing education courses and maintaining professionalism and adherence to regulations.
