About The Position

The Shores, a United Methodist Communities (UMC) community in Ocean City, New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist Assistant to join its Therapy team. The Shores serves residents in assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, and short-term rehabilitation. The Therapy team helps residents regain strength, mobility, and independence and improve their quality of life. The position pays $40 per hour and offers day shifts as needed, with flexibility to choose shifts; weekend shifts are available.

Requirements

• Hold an active New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
• Applicants must be able to produce a negative drug test.
• Applicants may be subject to a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in skilled nursing, sub-acute rehabilitation, or home health; newly licensed PTAs are welcome to apply.
• Experience with Net Health Therapy documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments designed by a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents reach their goals.
• Guide residents through exercises and activities that improve strength, balance, mobility, and walking ability.
• Support residents in practicing functional skills such as transfers, stair navigation, and safe movement during daily routines.
• Monitor resident performance during therapy sessions and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation to maintain continuity of care and support treatment outcomes.
