Physical Therapist Assistant (PRN)
About The Position
OSF Rehabilitation at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group is a hospital-based department that provides therapy services to inpatients and outpatients. This team consists of a fun and diverse group! We have therapists and assistants who specialize in a variety of areas including but not limited to: aquatic therapy, orthopedics, pediatrics, LSVT Big (Parkinson’s disease) and other neurological diagnoses, vestibular problems, balance, and concussion management. Our occupational therapists enjoy seeing patients with orthopedic diagnosis from the shoulder to the hand, neurological diagnosis, lymphedema, pelvic floor dysfunction, and pediatric patients who may have sensory dysfunction, feeding and eating issues and developmental delay. A clinic focused on evidence-based practice, teamwork and collaboration creates a positive environment for both patients and co-workers. OSF Rehabilitation offers an environment for clinicians that is supportive in professional development and offers paid continuing education units, tuition reimbursement for further education, and 401k with $1 per $1 match on first 5% of salary! In addition, OSF Healthcare qualifies for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness program.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy
- State license as Physical Therapist Assistant
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills to work well with others and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other treatment team members when gathering and exchanging patient condition information
- Analytical ability to identify and report changes in patient’s condition to a physical therapist
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner
Nice To Haves
- Previous work experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Administers and monitors patient's response to therapeutic exercises, transfer training, gait training, and other treatments in accordance with the physical therapists’ treatment plan.
