About The Position

UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital - North, affiliated with Select Medical, is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital serving people with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. The Physical Therapist Assistant works under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist to implement therapy plans of care and support patient care services. This is a per-diem position in Jacksonville, Florida. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and notes that the role could lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing therapy plans of care under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Delegate and direct supportive personnel for assigned patients to enhance patient care services.
• Communicate consistently with the supervising physical therapist about scheduled patients and the need for assessment or reassessment, treatment-plan modifications, and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participate in education for patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care within the scope of practice.
