About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides rehabilitation services in a skilled nursing facility in Daingerfield, Texas, working alongside a licensed Physical Therapist. The role helps patients regain strength, mobility, function, and independence following illness, injury, surgery, or changes in physical ability. The PTA carries out treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, monitors and documents patient progress, educates patients and families, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Texas.
• Current AHA CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Valid auto insurance.
• Strong communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or home health experience.
• HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training, manual techniques, and approved treatment modalities.
• Assist patients with improving strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and overall physical function.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, or changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document treatments and patient progress according to company and regulatory guidelines.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, assistive devices, safety, and strategies to promote continued independence.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean treatment environment.
