About The Position

At the direction of a physician or therapist, the Physical Medicine Tech provides or assists with physical medicine interventions, monitors patients during interventions, and communicates changes or concerns to team members. The role requires understanding PM&R procedures and medical terminology related to assigned duties, as well as basic knowledge of sterile procedures and proper body mechanics for patient care. The position maintains a clean and safe work environment, including ordering and maintaining equipment and supplies, and assists with clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. It also requires basic computer skills, the ability to use electronic equipment, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse patient population, including patients with physical and psychosocial impairments.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to use electronic equipment, which may include computers, telephones, and video cameras.
Interpersonal skills for effective communication.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work with a diverse patient population.
Basic knowledge of sterile procedures and proper body mechanics related to patient care.
Understanding of PM&R procedures and medical terminology related to duties.
Basic knowledge of computer programs.

Nice To Haves

Additional education, experience, and skill in the field of human services preferred.
