GDIT is seeking a PHP Web Developer to join its Web Application and Development team, supporting a dedicated web application project for the Environmental Protection Agency under the MAINES contract. The role works with matrixed teams across client and contractor organizations and regularly interfaces with clients, software developers, and other technical personnel. It serves as a primary technical point of contact and requires comfort in a client-facing role. The developer will focus primarily on PHP web development, interact regularly with endpoints, and apply a working understanding of APIs. The work includes collaborating with the customer to analyze existing application features and functionality, determine precise requirements, and incorporate improvements into the migrated application. The migration is expected to take multiple years, followed by ongoing monitoring and maintenance. The role develops, codes, deploys, tests, and maintains web applications and websites; analyzes customer requirements; collaborates with graphics and web designers; prepares applications for production; recommends and implements updates; and creates contingency plans for outages. It also builds knowledge of relevant programming, provides guidance to less-experienced web developers, and may supervise people and processes. The position is remote, with 40 scheduled hours per week and no travel required.
