About The Position

Santo Nino Health Center is highly seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Phone Operator / Appointment Scheduler to join our team. In this full-time role, you will handle a high volume of inbound calls, assist patients with scheduling, and provide excellent customer service. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive patient experience and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Requirements

  • Call center, receptionist, or scheduling experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer and data entry skills (EHR/EMR experience a plus)
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and patient-focused
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments
  • Assist patients with questions about services and appointment availability
  • Verify and update patient information, including insurance and contact details
  • Route calls and messages to appropriate staff or departments
  • Document all interactions accurately in the system
  • Handle patient concerns with empathy and escalate when needed
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
