Phlebotomy Technician - as-needed/PRN (Boise)
About The Position
Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking an as-needed/PRN Phlebotomist/Central Processing Tech for its medical center in Boise, Idaho. The position works various days and shifts. Evening, night, and weekend shifts receive an additional pay differential. The role does not offer insurance benefits or paid time off. Under the general direction of a supervisor, the phlebotomist collects blood samples, correctly identifies patients, transports specimens, and performs related clerical and computer functions. The Phlebotomy Tech registers patients, enters orders, collects and labels specimens, processes and distributes specimens for laboratory testing for patients of all ages, and uses relevant computer programs for data entry. The role also serves as the laboratory’s central point of communication for incoming requests, maintains the quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories, and reports results received. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
- Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities
