About The Position
The Phlebotomy Technician is an integral member of the Medical Laboratory Team, helping patients feel at ease while collecting required specimens and supporting a positive patient-care experience. The position is based at Bath Health and Wellness in Akron. The caregiver works days, 6:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a Saturday rotation from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. The posting also lists the shift as day/evening/night/weekend and the schedule as 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The role includes collecting and processing blood and other specimens, delivering specimens and supplies, and following standard procedures. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical proficiency with standard procedures, techniques, and common practices.
Nice To Haves
- Formal phlebotomy certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection procedures, follow venipuncture procedures, and maintain appropriate log sheets.
- Verify order requests and identifying information before drawing blood or collecting a specimen or kit.
- Label collected specimens and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
- Perform specimen processing and send-out tasks, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging.
- Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types, and laboratory supplies.
