About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for its Nampa Hospital. This PRN role works various shifts during the week and on weekends. Weekend shifts are required, along with weekday availability. Available shifts include 4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Night and weekend hours receive a shift differential. The position does not offer insurance benefits or paid time off. Under the general direction of the supervisor, the technician collects blood samples, identifies patients correctly, transports specimens, and performs related clerical and computer functions. The role includes registering and ordering specimens; collecting, labeling, processing, and distributing specimens for laboratory testing for patients of all ages; using relevant computer programs and entering data; serving as the laboratory's central point of communication for incoming requests; maintaining the quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories; and reporting results received.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy certification.
Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities
