This part-time, second shift Phlebotomist position is located in the Support Services department at IL ACL Laboratories - Masonic. The role involves verifying patient identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, and performing venipuncture and collecting other specimens from patients of all age groups according to established protocols. The phlebotomist will also perform limited testing under CLIA guidelines, answer phones, assist with inventory, and process specimens for testing. Additionally, the role includes ordering and verifying test requests, documenting information for quality assurance, running quality control checks, notifying providers of critical results, and performing laboratory result entry. The position also involves instructing employees and students in phlebotomy and related functions, and requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
