Phlebotomist - Tyler, Texas
About The Position
The Phlebotomist provides patient care and customer-focused service at Clinical Pathology Laboratories in Tyler, Texas. The role performs venipuncture on patients of all ages, collects and prepares non-blood specimens, and ensures proper specimen processing, labeling, and test ordering. The position also champions safety, compliance, and quality control. The role has routine access to protected health information (PHI); employees must complete training on reasonable safeguards, maintain strict confidentiality, follow applicable privacy and security standards, and access PHI only as needed to fulfill job duties. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday work. Scheduled weekly hours are 40.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous phlebotomy training or experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing.
- Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.
