About The Position
Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford, CT is hiring a Phlebotomist for their Patient Service Centers. This role is part of the Outpatient Lab Team and involves collecting and processing blood and other specimens for clinical laboratory testing. The position requires flexibility to float to other Patient Care Centers as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Laboratory experience, specimen processing preferred
- Clinical office experience with medical terminology

Responsibilities
- Collects and processes blood and other specimens on all patient age groups according to established policies and procedures for clinical laboratory testing to ensure accurate lab results that will assist the physician in diagnosis and treatment.
- Obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin site, and performs venipuncture and skin puncture according to established aseptic techniques.
- Labels specimens and prepares them for laboratory for analysis.
- Floats to other Patient Care Centers if needed.
