About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to work in a Patient Service Center or client office in Gastonia, North Carolina. The role provides customer service, performs skilled specimen collection, and serves as a representative of the company. It also offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization. This is a casual position with hours that may vary.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomist experience.
• If relying on certification or training instead of work experience, the credential or program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of phlebotomist experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
