About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its team in Gastonia, North Carolina, working in a Patient Service Center or client office. The role provides customer service, performs specimen collections, and serves as a representative of the company. The position offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization.

The casual schedule is Monday through Friday at varying times between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays. Hours may vary. Phlebotomists may be eligible to participate in the PST Incentive Plan, which provides a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• If substituting phlebotomy certification or a completed training program for work experience, the credential or program must be from an accredited agency.
• Demonstrated record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other testing.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
