About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking a Phlebotomist Lab Assistant I to provide general laboratory services while floating between clinics in Lafayette and West Lafayette. IU Health laboratories operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and perform more than 19 million tests annually. They also provide testing services to hospitals and physicians across the country.

The role includes specimen collection, order entry, blood component preparation, pre-analytic specimen processing, and related clerical work. The incumbent may also handle patient and specimen registration and specimen delivery. The position is full-time on the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Telephone skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
• May require a valid Indiana operator’s license and a good driving history for the last three years.
• May require an understanding of Indiana traffic laws.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a phlebotomy training program with experience in a laboratory, or coursework in biological, chemical, or related science.

Responsibilities
