About The Position

The Entry Level Patient Service Representative / Lobby Experience Coordinator helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This individual will also utilize phlebotomy skills to grow within the organization. The candidate has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding the scheduled procedure in a safe and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The impact of this individual will be crucial to maintaining the integrity of the lobby and ensuring that all patients are provided with the expected level of service. This is primarily a Lobby Greeter position to help patients check in at the kiosk and to help them feel more comfortable while waiting to be called back for their labs, while also filling in for breaks and covering for staffing shortages.

Requirements

• A high level of customer service experience and skills are required as this is critical to the heart of the role.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, including internship or externship experience to learn the basics.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service is required (such as Retail, Home Health Aide, etc).
• Some phlebotomy experience is required.
• Keyboard and data entry experience is a must.
• Ability to assist with cleansing the facility.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the area supervisor, the candidate will perform daily activities accurately and on time.
• The candidate will maintain a safe and professional environment and maintain required records and documentation.
• The successful candidate demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general along with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help with breaks that need to be covered.
• Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• Assist with cleansing the facility and miscellaneous tasks.
