About The Position

The Entry Patient Service Representative I/Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This individual will also utilize phlebotomy skills to grow within the organization. The candidate has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding the scheduled procedure in a safe and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Requirements

  • A high level of customer service experience and skills are required.
  • Ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
  • Ability to perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Phlebotomy experience is required, including internship or externship experience to learn the basics.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service required (such as retail or home health aide experience).
  • Some phlebotomy experience is required.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience is required.

  • Assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable.

  • Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding the scheduled procedure in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • Help patients check in at the kiosk and to help them feel more comfortable while waiting to be called back for their labs to be run.
  • Fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages.
  • Assist with check-ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
  • Help with breaks that need to be covered.
  • Perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
