About The Position
Sentara Health is hiring a Phlebotomist - Clinical Lab Assistant to work flexi days in Central Testing at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia. The schedule is Monday and Wednesday, 0800–1600. The role performs patient phlebotomy while maintaining a high level of customer service. It collects, labels, and processes patient specimens for testing; handles registration and test data entry; and monitors supply levels. Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed acute care facility and Certified Primary Stroke Center with specialized heart and vascular and urologic services, diagnostic and surgical capabilities, a hospitalist program, and an emergency department. It is also home to the Orthopedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex Hospital.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities
- Perform patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
- Collect, label, and process patient specimens for testing.
- Complete registration and test data entry.
