About The Position

Meijer is hiring an entry-level Pharmacy Technician in Marysville, Michigan. Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the technician supports customers and performs administrative and service duties that help the pharmacy operate and maintain customer satisfaction. No prior experience is necessary, and training is provided. Previous cashier, customer service, pharmacy, health care, or home care experience is a plus.

The schedule is Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Enter customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medication.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Prioritize workload.
• Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
