About The Position

Meijer is hiring an entry-level Pharmacy Technician in Lake Orion, Michigan. Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician supports customers and performs administrative and service-related duties that help keep customers satisfied. No prior experience is necessary, and training is provided. Previous cashier, customer service, pharmacy, health care, or home care experience is a plus.

The schedule is Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour. Meijer describes the role as an opportunity for career and community involvement, personal growth, and advancement.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve appropriate medications from inventory.
• Enter customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medications for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medications.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Prioritize workload.
• Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
