About The Position

Meijer is hiring an entry-level Pharmacy Technician in Lake Orion, Michigan. Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the technician supports customers and performs administrative and service-based duties that help the pharmacy operate and provide quality customer service. No prior experience is necessary, and training is provided. The schedule is within the listed operating hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

Retrieve appropriate medication from inventory.
Enter customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Prioritize workload.
Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
