About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. The role supports pharmacy operations by retrieving, entering, labeling, ordering, and stocking prescription medications; processing insurance claims; completing prescription and drug-order paperwork; promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services; and maintaining patient confidentiality and a clean, orderly pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Input customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medication.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Prioritize workload.
• Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
