About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician at LifeSpan Pharmacy supports pharmacists in the safe and efficient dispensing of medications. The role involves accurately preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, maintaining patient records, and providing customers with information about medication usage and safety. The Pharmacy Technician must follow regulatory requirements, pharmacy protocols, and infection control practices while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Indiana.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication safety standards.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software and basic computer literacy.
- Ability to comply with regulatory and safety guidelines related to pharmacy operations.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of infection control practices beyond standard pharmacy protocols.
- Strong communication skills and customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in accurately and efficiently preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
- Receive, store, and organize pharmaceutical supplies and medications.
- Answer patient inquiries and guide patients on medication usage and safety.
- Label prescriptions and maintain patient records.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe pharmacy environment.
- Comply with regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and pharmacy protocols.
