About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician practices pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. The role requires a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to support overall patient health. The technician retrieves and stocks medications, enters customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system, prepares prescription labels, adjudicates insurance claims, completes related paperwork, and orders prescription medications. The position also supports pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, prioritizes workload, communicates effectively, maintains a clean and orderly pharmacy, and protects confidential patient information.

Responsibilities

Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
