About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. The role calls for a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to enhance patients’ overall health. The technician retrieves and stocks medication, processes prescription and customer information, supports prescription fulfillment and drug orders, and promotes pharmacy initiatives and clinical services. The position also involves prioritizing work, communicating effectively, maintaining pharmacy presentation, and protecting patient confidentiality.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Enter customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medication.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Prioritize workload.
• Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
