About The Position

The Entry Level Pharmacy Technician practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. This person provides friendly, remarkable customer service to support overall patient health. The role involves retrieving, ordering, and stocking prescription medications; entering customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system; creating prescription labels; adjudicating insurance claims; and completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders. The technician also promotes pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, prioritizes workload, communicates effectively, supports change, maintains a clean and orderly pharmacy, and protects the confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or meets the requirements in their state.

Responsibilities

Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
Enter customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
