About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician is an entry-level position focused on medication delivery and inventory management. The role also provides basic patient, provider, and customer service through communication and message retrieval. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The technician is accountable for fulfilling job-specific obligations and complying with organizational policies and procedures. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA within 2 years.
• Be registered as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Intern with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
• Skills in computer literacy, healthcare regulatory environment, pharmaceutical names, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient, provider, and customer care.
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care.
• Participate in patient, provider, and customer care activities that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise.
• Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution.
• Retrieve and review medications and supplies, and manage pharmacy inventory.
• Maintain pharmacy records.
• Perform pharmacy housekeeping in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies.
• Participate in onboarding and training new pharmacy personnel.
