Pharmacy Technician II-Specialty Home Care Pharmacy
About The Position
This role is within the Specialty Home Care Pharmacy at Cincinnati Children's. The Pharmacy Technician II will be responsible for various tasks related to medication preparation, delivery, and management in a home care setting. This includes unit dose preparation, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and patient-specific dose delivery. The position also involves phone triage, insurance adjudication, and medication storage inspections. Additionally, the technician may perform Tech Check Tech duties and manage medication doses on nursing units in decentralized pharmacy operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of work experience in a related job discipline
- Must be PTCB certified
- Must be OH Board of Pharmacy certified
Responsibilities
- Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses.
- Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms.
- Delivery of patient specific doses.
- Prepare and perform ADC replenishment.
- Performs outpatient phone triage.
- Performs insurance adjudication.
- Performs medication storage inspections.
- Performs Sterile compounding or non-sterile hazardous compounding.
- Under authorized program is able to check the work of another pharmacy technician.
- Manages medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations.
- Performs inpatient phone triage.
