About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician I role is a part-time position within the Pharmacy Department at Texas Health Dallas. This role involves the timely and accurate preparation, delivery, and storage of medications, utilizing technology where appropriate. The technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their work, maintaining required competencies and documentation, and adhering to departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards. The position also involves ongoing professional development, effective communication, building positive working relationships, and role-modeling teamwork. Additionally, the technician will train new employees on routine tasks and share responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs and identifying process efficiencies.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
No experience is required
RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required
Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation.
