About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, delivery, and storage of medications. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of one's own work, maintaining required competencies, and adhering to departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards. The technician will also engage in ongoing professional development, lead by example, and manage their time effectively. Communication and teamwork are essential, as is sharing the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs and discovering process efficiencies. This position also involves training new employees on routine tasks under the direction of designated personnel. The role contributes to the delivery of high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations in practice.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
No experience is required
RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required
Proficiency in written and verbal English language
Proficiency with computers
Ability to adapt to various software systems
Basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra
The ability to work alone and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Other IV Certification is preferred

Responsibilities

Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation.
