About The Position

Provide support to pharmacists by preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting clients with medication pickup. Maintain accurate records and ensure a safe, organized pharmacy environment.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized pharmacy assistant program or equivalent practical experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of basic pharmaceutical terminology and ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately.
• Experience using pharmacy management software, point-of-sale systems, or willingness to learn these systems.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, follow safety procedures, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in receiving, preparing, labeling and packaging prescriptions under supervision.
• Process prescription refills and customer orders, verify prescription information and patient details.
• Manage stock levels, conduct inventory counts, restock shelves and order supplies as needed.
• Operate point-of-sale systems, handle cash transactions and maintain accurate sales records.
• Maintain patient records, prepare documentation for billing and insurance-related processes while protecting privacy.
• Provide customer service by answering routine inquiries, offering basic medication information, and referring clinical questions to pharmacists.
