About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment that promotes patient care by philosophy and policy. This person provides friendly, remarkable customer service to support patients’ overall health. The role involves retrieving medications, processing prescription and customer information, preparing labels, handling insurance claims and related paperwork, ordering and stocking prescription medications, and supporting pharmacy services and initiatives. The Pharmacy Tech also prioritizes workload, communicates effectively, maintains patient confidentiality, and keeps the pharmacy clean and orderly.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or meets requirements in their state.
Retail/Community Practice experience.

Responsibilities

Retrieve appropriate medications from inventory.
Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Prioritize workload.
Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
