About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment that promotes patient care through its philosophy and policies. The role calls for a friendly team member who provides remarkable customer service to support patients’ overall health. The Pharmacy Tech retrieves medications, processes prescription and customer information, prepares labels, handles insurance claims and related paperwork, orders and stocks prescription medications, and promotes pharmacy initiatives and clinical services. The position also involves prioritizing work, communicating effectively, supporting change, maintaining an orderly pharmacy, and protecting patient confidentiality.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or meets the education requirements in their state.
Retail/Community Practice experience.

Responsibilities

Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Prioritize workload.
Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
