About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the registered pharmacist, and according to state and federal laws, performs a variety of tasks according to policies and procedures. The intermediate-level role requires the colleague to be competent with the responsibilities outlined in the Pharmacy Technician Essential Job Functions along with maintaining proficiency in areas of pharmacy technician specialty practice as outlined by the department requirements. Requirements

  • Illinois: At least 16 years of age and is attending or graduated from high school or GED equivalency is required.
  • Wisconsin: At least 18 years of age and has graduated from high school or GED equivalency is required or enrolled in an approved youth apprenticeship program approved by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
  • 1 year pharmacy experience is required.
  • Licensed or registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice is required.
  • IL: May work in a license pending status for up to 60 days.
  • WI: May work in a license pending status until registration is approved.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire OR enrolled in a Doctorate of Pharmacy program is required.
