Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern - WM
About The Position
The Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern supports Walmart’s community pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in patient care and pharmacy operations. The role helps improve customer health and wellness by supporting the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services, providing customer service, and contributing to the pharmacy team’s goals. The intern helps process prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases, supports patients as they navigate clinical therapies, and receives and stocks merchandise and supplies. The position also requires maintaining confidentiality, following HIPAA and protected health information guidelines, managing inventory, and maintaining the pharmacy area. The role is based at 77 Green Acres Rd, Valley Stream, New York.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
- Demonstrate proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementation of best practices.
- Build effective relationships with customers and the pharmacy team.
- Address individual patient needs.
- Commit to following HIPAA and protected health information guidelines.

- Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records in accordance with company policies and local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Help process prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases.
- Recognize patients, assess their needs, and help them navigate clinical therapies.
- Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
- Manage inventory and maintain the pharmacy area.
- Participate in community activities, outreach, and events.
