Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern - WM
About The Position
The Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern works with Walmart's community pharmacy team to support patient care and the safe, efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services. The role provides paid, hands-on experience in a pharmacy environment, helping customers with health and wellness needs and contributing to the pharmacy team's goals. The intern supports prescription and over-the-counter order processing, patient care, inventory management, and pharmacy-area upkeep. The role also requires protecting confidential information and following HIPAA and PHI guidelines, as well as applicable company and government requirements.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
- Demonstrate proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementing best practices.
- Have the ability to build relationships with customers and the pharmacy team.
- Be able to address individual patient needs.
- Commit to following HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records in accordance with company policies and local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Help process prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases.
- Support patient care by recognizing patients, assessing their needs, and helping them navigate clinical therapies.
- Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
- Manage inventory and maintain the pharmacy area.
- Participate in community activities, outreach, and events.
