About The Position

The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy and supervising pharmacy caregivers to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant medication-use processes. This role provides direct leadership to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, supports staffing and workflow management, assists with quality and process improvement initiatives, and serves as a clinical pharmacist when needed. The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor partners closely with the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Clinical Supervisor to support departmental goals, caregiver development, regulatory compliance, inventory management, and diversion prevention efforts. Although each supervisory role (Clinical and Operational) has designated primary responsibilities, there may be overlap in duties and shared accountability for staff development, quality and safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, operational performance, inventory management, and diversion prevention. Both supervisors are expected to collaborate closely and provide mutual support to ensure consistent leadership and successful achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required
  • Current Colorado pharmacy license required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience in a hospital pharmacy setting required

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency program may be considered in lieu of certain leadership experience and is preferred
