About The Position

MacQuarries Pharmasave Group has been a trusted community pharmacy in Nova Scotia since 1920. Our Hantsport pharmacy serves a welcoming, close‑knit community nestled in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. Conveniently located just 15–20 minutes from Windsor, under an hour from Halifax, and approximately 45 minutes from Halifax Stanfield International Airport, the area offers excellent accessibility while maintaining a relaxed, small‑town feel. The region is also a short drive from 14 Wing Greenwood, one of Canada’s largest air force bases. As Pharmacy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations while continuously improving workflows and enhancing patient services. You will have freedom, flexibility, and autonomy to lead the dispensary, develop your team, and help grow clinical services backed by an experienced support team and an organization that values your ideas and input.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician in Nova Scotia (or eligible to become licensed).
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience in Canada (required).
  • Patient-focused and committed to exceptional healthcare service.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with pharmacy technology and workflow improvement (experience with Kroll is an asset).
  • Interest in clinical service delivery and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations to ensure safe, accurate dispensing and excellent patient care.
  • Lead, mentor, schedule, and support a team of pharmacists and pharmacy staff; foster a positive, learning-focused culture.
  • Oversee key people processes including onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal standards, regulations, and professional requirements.
  • Support and expand clinical services (e.g., immunizations, medication reviews, and other patient-care services).
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control; monitor budgets and key performance measures to support sustainable growth.
  • Optimize workflow and pharmacy systems (Kroll experience is an asset) to improve efficiency and patient experience.
  • Collaborate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals and participate in community wellness initiatives and outreach.
