Pharmacy FFC Certified Technician
About The Position
Works in a fast-paced production environment known as an automated Central Fill Pharmacy. Assist pharmacists in the accurate preparation and distribution of prescription medications. This role involves working with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies. Handles inquiries that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise and judgment, and assists in developing standard operating procedures. The technician prepares and affixes labels to prescription containers, assists in training employees, and aids in adherence to quality assurance standards. They gain a complete understanding of Hy-Vee’s retail pharmacy operations and offer avenues to better serve customers. The role also includes ordering, checking-in, and stocking pharmacy supplies, maintaining cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area, and adhering to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress. Performs mail order call center duties including data entry to prepare prescription orders, manually counts medication quantities and replenishes medication cells as needed, and replaces empty medication cells and brings full cells to robots.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program and maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems; several abstract and concrete variables.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, assisting in the preparation of accurate prescriptions.
- Must be able to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; have increased contact with people; interview counsel or advise people; evaluate technical data.
- Maintains the confidentiality of the customer’s private medical information according to the HIPAA act.

- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred.

- Replaces empty medication cells and brings full cells to robots
- Assists in areas as needed
- Performs other related job duties and special projects as required
- Assist in stocking of pharmacy supplies
